Climate change is likely the biggest threat to humanity and it is already happening - global increase in temperature which in turn caused the poles to melt, sea levels to rise and the ecosystem to change; extreme weather and ocean acidification. Climate change is caused mainly by carbon dioxide emission from human activities which has skyrocketed to dangerous levels. The urgent need to reduce carbon emission cannot be overemphasized.

Buildings have been known to be notorious for their high energy consumption in the past and are still one of the largest energy consumers at present. The impact of buildings on climate change is thus undeniable. With the development of green building, the building construction industry is moving forward to combat carbon emission through better passive and active design to make buildings energy efficient and sustainable and at the same time, reduce operations and maintenance costs as well as maintain good indoor environment for the health and wellbeing of the occupants.

Our Background

BluSky Consulting Limited is a Hong Kong-based company led by Jimmy Lee who has 15 years of experience in analyzing building performance, energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainability. He has worked on green building projects in the UK and Asia and was involved in assisting the Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of Hong Kong in reviewing its technical guidelines on retro-commissioning (RCx). Besides private firms, he has also given building performance simulation training to educational institutions in Asia. He received his Bachelor of Architectural Environment Engineering from University of Nottingham in England. Equipped with deep and valuable insights on green building development and driven by his passion for the environment and belief that green building is the future of the building construction industry, he founded BluSky in March 2019.

Our Mission

Our mission is to help achieve blue skies through green buildings and create a better, healthier and greener indoor environment to live, work and play in.

Our Approach

We aim to assist building designers, owners and operators in making buildings energy efficient yet comfortable for the occupants, by analyzing the building performance, energy efficiency, renewable energy and sustainability. With the use of simulation techniques, we can better predict the energy flow within the building and help make better decisions on the design options.

Green building does not necessarily mean higher capital cost. Proper building performance analysis can provide valuable information on the building energy usage and indoor environment condition even from the earliest stage of design and from there, we can explore the potential opportunities for further improvement.
